24 players returned to action on the 5th day of the
EPT’s 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, with the goal of playing right down to the 6-handed final table. A total of 12 hours of action went into the day, at the end of which, poker pro Chance Kornuth emerged with the largest stack: he had managed to amass some 7.86 million chips.
Kornuth was followed by Kevin Schulz, with 6.1 million chips and Diego Ventura, with 3.98 million. One of the previous days’ chip leaders, Juan Martin Pastor made the cut as well: he finished in 5th place, with 2.65 million chips to his name. Rami Boukai made the final table as well, but he’ll be starting the home stretch as the official short-stack, with only 780k chips in his stack.

While Kornuth did indeed end up with the biggest stack at the end of Day 5, things didn’t exactly begin well for him. In fact, he doubled up two players before he turned the tide around and managed to get something going against Jim Collopy. The latter had an A,Qo against Kornuth’s pocket rockets. Later on, he hit quad Queens against Felipe Ramos to further swell his stack. From there on out, it was all smooth sailing for the eventual chip leader, who turned extremely aggressive preflop, bullying his opponents around and adding to his stack as he went.
Schulz played well during that stretch too. He was the one who bounced Pratyush Buddiga, after the latter’s A,10o fell to his Ad, Qd. Noah Schwartz and Scott Baumstein were among the victims of the day too, falling in 22nd and 15th places respectively.
