The 2015 edition of the WCOOP's Main Event wrapped up the other day, after a massive, 4-way chop at the top. The biggest and
best online poker series, the one that's at the top of every professional poker player's calendar, finished with a Main Event, which saw no fewer than 3 players walk away with 7-figure prizes. The winner who emerged out of the 4-way deal at the top was "Coenaldinho7" ho took home $1.3 million. Second-place man AlwaysiNduCe from Poland took down exactly $1 million. Third-place finisher Guillaume Nolet of Canada fared better: he took down $1.22 million for his efforts. The only player to be involved in the above said deal who didn't get at least $1 million, was another Belgian, known by the online moniker beertjes79. His share of the prize-pool was $800k. The top 4 weren't the only players who ended up with substantial prizes: those who made the final 9 all made at least $100k.
Play at PokerStars and build a large enough bankroll to play in the next edition of the WCOOP. The value offered by some of the WCOOP events is simply ridiculous.
A total of 1,995 players took part in the Main Event, creating a prize-pool slightly bigger than $10 million. Of these starters, some 243 got paid. Needless to say, scores of notables played, including a healthy contingent of PokerStars pros. Ami Barer was one of the "name" players who busted out past the money-bubble. He finished in 225th place. Keven Stamen and Isaac Baron cashed as well: they finished in 218th and 151st places respectively. Other notables to make the money were Cole South, Kevin MacPhee, Stephen Chidwick and David Peters.
Besides the above detailed 4 front-runners, two other "name" players made the final table too: Alexander Kostritsyn and Rory Brown, who finished 8th and 6th respectively.
