2015 WSOP in its 19th Day

Day 19 of the 2015 WSOP stood out by virtue of the fact that it saw no bracelets awarded. As such, it provided a handy break for the media to take a look back at what had been accomplished over the last fortnight or so at the WSOP tables. Two new events got going on Day 19: event #30, a $1k NL Holdem affair, which saw 2,150 players belly up to its tables, and event #31, the $3k PLO Hi-Lo 8 or better one, which drew a starting field of 480 players.
The $10k NL 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship event rolled on, going right past its final table bubble and well into its home stretch. Dan Smith was the one who locked up the chip lead. The event had an initial starting field of 77 well-stacked players, who created a prize-pool of $723.8k.

For the second day of the tournament, only 32 players returned to the tables. When the action was called, only 6 remained at the table, still holding out hope for the bracelet.
Given the size of the buy-in, it came as no surprise that the field was as pro-heavy as it could possibly get. The first player who made the money was Rep Porter. His share of the prize-pool was $14.6k. Jeff Lisandro on the other hand was bounced with nothing to show for his efforts. Shaun Deeb, Matt Glantz and Huck Seed fell outside of the money too. George Danzer and Farzad Bonyadi on the other hand finished in the money. They were joined on the rail by Jorryt Van Hoof and Bernard Lee. The remaining survivors make quite a lineup: besides Smith, Eric Seidel, Phil Galfond, Nick Schulman and Eli Elezra made the final cut.
