The
2015 WSOP wrapped up yesterday - at least for now - with the final 9 of the Main Event set. Returning in November, every one of these last 9 players has a $1 million share of the prize-pool guaranteed, while the winner is set to pick up a $7.68k reward, so there is indeed still plenty to play for. The tournament drew an initial starting field of 6,420 players, who combined buy-ins, creating a prize-pool of $60.34 million.
The final day of action (before the November Nine showdown, obviously), saw 18 players return to the tables, among them Daniel Negreanu, the PokerStars pro who had all eyes on him literally as well as figuratively speaking. Others in the mix were Pierre Neuville, the 72-year old, who at one point had the chip lead in the tournament, and Joseph Keehen, a circuit pro, who was sitting behind a hefty stack and who was looking to rule the road to the final table with an iron fist.

Indeed, eventually it was Keehen himself who put an end to Daniel Negreanu's November Nine bid, ejecting the crowd-favorite in 11th place, just 2 short of the final table.
Keehen is the player who takes a massive chip lead into the November Nine: he finished with 63.1 million chips, more than twice as much as second-place man Zvi Stern, who has some 29.8 million. Next in the chip count is Neil Blumenfield, with 22 million, followed by Pierre Neuville, with 21 million. Max Steinberg of the US is next, with 20.2 million. Thomas Cannuli and Josh Beckley will return with 12.2 million and 11.8 million chips respectively. The short-stacks are Patrick Chan, with 6.22 million chips and Federico Butteroni, with 6.20 million.
