2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event - Day 2 Report

The second day of the PCA's 2016 Main Event went into the books and it was indeed an eventful stretch of live poker action. The player who clinched the chip lead going into Day 2 was Brazil's Leonardo Pires, who built a stack of 524k chips to lock up the top spot. The $5.3k poker tournament drew a starting field of 928 players, who combined buy-ins to create a prize-pool of a little over $4.5 million.
A total of 135 players will walk away with cash. The eventual winner will walk away with some $833.2k. 195 players survived the Day 2 action, so the money-bubble will likely burst on Day 3. From among the "name" participants, Steve O'Dwyer finished with the biggest stack: his 430.9k chips were enough for 4th place. Ami Barer made the top 10 as well.

Talking about "name" players: Antoni Esfandiari played on Day 2 as well and while he ended up on the rail, he got there in a rather unorthodox fashion: he was disqualified, for breach of table etiquette. It turns out the poker pro had to heed the call of nature during the tournament and urinated in a container under the table, a move which was deemed way out of line by tournament officials. At the time of his disqualification, Esfandiari had some 100k chips to his name, so he had in fact been doing pretty well.
Other high-profile pros who made the Day 2 cut were John Racener, Toby Lewis, Fedor Holz and Kevin MacPhee, each of them with decent-size stacks. Benjamin Pollak made it too, albeit with only 65.9k chips.
