2016 WSOP Schedule Announced

The schedule of the upcoming edition of the World Series of Poker is usually made public during the first couple of months of the year and this year was no different in this respect. The 2016 schedule has been announced a day ago and it's already clear that there will be changes: some events have been dropped, others have been added and overall, players will get more chips to toss around while more places will be paid in the various bracelet events. There will apparently be 60 gold bracelet events, and the Series will once again kick off with the traditional Casino Employees NL Holdem event, which costs $565 to enter and which takes place on June 1.
As far as the last event is concerned, this is where one major change comes into the picture: the Main Event will no longer be the one to pull the curtains on the show. Instead, the $1,111 Little One for One Drop will wrap things up, kicking off on July 12.
Sign up to PokerStars and use their online qualifiers to win a seat in the 2016 WSOP Main Event or in one of the side-events.

While the actual bracelet action begins on June 1 as said above, the WSOP hostilities will kick off on May 31 with cash game action and satellites. Of course, for online players it makes more sense just use the qualifiers offered by sites like PokerStars and 888poker.
The Main Event gets going on July 9, and it will once again feature three Day 1 flights. The starting stacks will increase in the Main Event as well as in every one of the $10k Championship events, going from the usual 30k chips to 50k, thus dealing the luck factor yet another blow. Overall, some 15% of the starting field will get paid in every event, instead of the usual 10%.
