888 Poker Gearing up for Real Money Poker in Nevada

There has been a lot of media-coverage of the online poker legalization process in Nevada, and inevitably, a lot of hype as well, however, residents of the State looking to actually get their monies into the middle are yet to see an actual legal online operation throw its virtual doors open. Various sites/companies have been promising to launch their rooms “soon”, but it’s still anybody’s game out there. 888 Poker have made an announcement the other day, in which they essentially promised that they’d be among the first if not the very first online poker operation to go live in the Silver State.
According to the announcement, 888 are expecting to be able to go live this summer. All they’re really waiting for at this stage is the approval of their software by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and knowing their expertise in this vert, they aren’t likely to hit any snags in this respect. The software testing process has been ongoing since last year.

According to 888 Poker’s Brian Mattingley, 888 are extremely well positioned to do well in Nevada. The company has teamed up with Caesars Interactive Entertainment, which means that they’ll be able to take full advantage of the WSOP brand, in addition to their already stellar offshore reputation.
Besides their Nevada push, 888 are also looking to secure a market-share in New Jersey.
The NGC has given its blessings to more than 20 operators already, like the Golden Nugget, MGM Resorts and Fertitta Interactive. None of these companies have announced the official launch date of their real money online operation yet, but many of them have said they expected to be fully operational by the end of this year.
Following the initial rush, companies will only be able to assess the impact of the regulated US market on their bottom lines in 2015.
