Come January, poker will be heading down under and so could you be with seats on offer for the Aussie Millions from 888 Poker for as little as $1.10.
2012 will be a landmark year in Australian poker and live poker tournaments as the Aussie Millions Poker Championship celebrates its 10th anniversary. Never to miss a good party 888 Poker’s Ambassador Shane Warne will be in attendance, but he’s inviting members of the online poker community to join him with qualifiers running from as little as $1.10. With approximately AUD$22,000,000 up for grabs in the tournament, most people would agree that that is a good investment!
The 888 Poker Aussie Millions Qualifier will be running at the online poker site on January 7th at 20:00 EDT which is 9:00 GMT. The tournament can be registered for by all members of the 888 Poker online poker community by going to Live Events in the lobby, then All, and you will see the tournament listed. The direct buy-in for the event is $500 + $25, and from the qualifier at least 2 entries to the Aussie Millions Main Event will be awarded; each worth $10,600.
Of course you could find yourself with a seat in that Aussie Millions Qualifier for considerably less than $500. The online poker site is running satellites daily with entries starting from as little as $1.10. The Aussie Millions Main Event will run from Sunday January 22nd through till Saturday January 28th. In total there will be 26 events making up the Aussie Millions 2012 schedule with of course the Main Event being the highlight. The Main Event was won in 2011 by local Melbourne man David Gorr. Gorr is a 68 year-old grandfather of 5, who walked away from the tournament with AUD$2,000,000 in prize money. Despite his win in the largest poker tournament in the southern hemisphere, Gorr’s life remained much the same after his win, choosing to give most of the prize money to his children and grand children.
