Like every respectable online poker site, 888poker run a number of qualifiers to high-profile live poker events all the time. At any given point in time, there are at least a couple of such satellites running and right now we have the 2014 Battle of Malta live event to qualify for.
The Battle of Malta – an obvious reference to the historic battle that stopped the expansion of the Ottoman Empire in 1956, better known as the Great Siege of Malta – has returned for the third consecutive year, and according to 888poker, it is bigger and meaner than ever. The actual live event takes place in November only, so that means there’s still plenty of time for players to get their games on. The packages offered by 888poker through their Malta Mania promotion are worth $2.2k and they cover the entry to the Main Event (worth €550) plus a range of other issues, like accommodation (4 nights at the Hilton Hotel Malta), side event access, access to a VIP party and travel money (some $300 paid directly into winners’ 888poker accounts).
Sign up to 888poker right away or fund your existing account and hit the Malta Mania qualifiers for your chance to pick up the above described fabulous live event package.

Those who win the Battle of Malta package will not be able to sell it or to transfer it and the site is not going to offer them a cash deal on it either. He who is going to Malta with 888poker is indeed going to Malta: there are no two ways about it. Package winners will have to be at least 18, otherwise they won’t be able to compete in the Main Event. Residents of Malta represent an exception in this respect: they have to be at least 25 to take part.
Obviously, package winners will have to act as 888poker’s representatives/ambassadors at the event. They’ll be expected to wear 888poker branded clothes provided by the operator. As a sponsored player of the company, this is quite natural indeed.

888poker does not back/endorse any private deals between players, therefore, if their sponsored player happens to make a bad deal, he will only have himself to blame, as the company takes no responsibility in this respect.
Players will be compelled to adhere to strict behavior standards at the event. If they happen to get ejected for breaking the rules, 888poker will offer them no refunds of any kind.
Sign up to 888poker now and hit the Battle of Malta live event qualifiers for your chance to pick up a coveted $2.2k package!
