A Second Look at the 2013 WSOP November Nine – Part 10

David Benefield may not be among the players with the most impressive live poker accomplishments at the 2013 WSOP final table, but for the online poker crowd, his may be the best-known name of all the November Niners. Benefield is a true red-blooded member of the online poker generation, and indeed, he boasts an online poker record which can be the envy of any high stakes professional. Besides his impressive profits and various cash game antics, he is also credited with the invention of the quad monitor setup for grinding stations.
Known by the online moniker “Raptor”, he once set off on a challenge to make enough money online to buy a vacation home in Costa Rica worth $1.4 million. Already guaranteed to walk away with at least $733.2k, he is indeed on the right track towards that rather lofty objective.

Even though his online accomplishments far overshadow everything he’s ever done at a live poker table, he isn’t short of live results either. Last year, he made a deep run in the WSOPE’s €50k Majestic Super High Roller, finishing 8th and picking up a$150k prize – the largest single live prize of his poker career.
In the 2012 WSOP, he made it all the way to 10th place in the $5k NL Holdem event, #17 of that year’s Series.
He made a relatively deep run in the 2008 WSOP Main Event too, picking up a $77.2k prize for his 73rd place finish.
In 2008, Benefield complained about not getting any personal fulfillment out of playing poker anymore, saying that he was about to implement some lifestyle changes. Whatever measures he took – if any – have apparently yielded fabulous results as he is now on the brightest stage of the poker world, about to get the chance to go all the way to the top.

Agreed. Telling his readers off like that just means that he has biettn off more than he can chew. My son reads this blog and is just starting to get into trading but we are going to have to pull the plug on this. Im with David. Boogster needs to get a real job and also needs to learn how to admit his mistakes instead of letting loose on his readers.
