Always the Modest One, Hellmuth Says he Inspires People

The current WSOP bracelet record holder and all-around poker hell-raiser Phil Hellmuth, has never been known for his modesty. He takes full responsibility for all the success he's encountered through his long and highly productive career and indeed, the numbers back him up all the way. One only has to look at
this year's WSOP to gain a glimpse into the manner the Poker Brat dominates the game: he has taken down another bracelet in one of the championship events just to keep the ball rolling, he made the final table of the biggest live tournament of the year and he put in a more than decent deep run in the Main Event. His luck in the Big Dance ran out on day 4 in a rather sudden manner: he lost a coin-flip to PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu and suddenly, he was on the rail.

Always seeking the attention of the cameras, Hellmuth decided to hang around after his elimination, giving interviews and generally assessing his Main Event run for the poker press. In regards to that, he said that while he had played well, the cards just failed to land his way. He also expressed regret in regards to past WSOP editions when he squandered opportunities by failing to play the right way.
Fans were indeed following the Brat around, crowding the rail whenever he happened to be seated near it during the tournament. In regards to that, Hellmuth said that he liked it when people were watching him and that he knew that he was an inspiration for hundreds of millions of people around the world. He also mentioned that he liked that too and that he took full responsibility for it. Classy as always...
