APPT Macau: Asia Championship of Poker – Day 4 Report

Michael Kanaan had the largest stack when 22 players returned to the tables of the APPT Macau’s Asia Championship of Poker and he was the still on top when the action was called for the day. After 7 hours of grueling green-felt battles, the final table of the poker tournament has been successfully reached.
Kanaan finished the day with a stack of 1.39 million chips. Alan Sass was the player to draw first blood on Day 4: he eliminated James McCarty, to start a steady albeit slow trickle of busts. Andrew Hinrichsen put his tournament life onto the line during the first level of the day too, but he managed to stave off elimination by doubling up. The second player to bite the dust was Seungsoo Jeon. Yuri Ishida decided to stake her tournament life on an A,J she’d picked up, but it turned out to be the wrong decision: she was called by Ying Kit Chan, who had pocket Ks, and she busted.

Raiden Kan had started the day among the large-stacks, but he was the one responsible for doubling up Hinrichsen and another player. Bleeding chips at that pace soon had him among the short-stacks, and he eventually found the rail too, in 19th place.
Following his elimination, there were several short-stacks left in the field and it took them a while for the first one to earn the heave-ho. Zhongwei Wang was the player who broke the ice this time around, suffering a bad beat to get the eliminations going again. He was followed out the door by Aaron Lim and Paolo Gompagno. Gary Lam, the chip leader of the first day was sent to the rail as well.
Mike Watson – himself a large-stack – then dropped a massive pot to the eventual chip leader. Tri Huynh was the final table bubble-boy.
