While in the rest of the world poker withers under the pressures of excessive and poorly thought-out regulation, in Australia, its woes are non-existent. In fact - judging by the attendance numbers generated by this year's Aussie Millions Main Event - it is more popular than ever. The said event saw some 732 people belly up to its tables, 84 more than last year. In fact, the turn-out was the biggest since 2010. All this translated into an impressive-sized prize-pool too: some $7.2 million will end up in possession of some 80 players who will walk away with money from the tables. The winner will take down AUD 1.6 million. We do not yet know who the lucky people who make the money will be, but on Day 2 of the
poker tournament, quite a bit of progress has been made towards the money-bubble: some 150 players were left standing.

The player who finished Day 2 with the biggest stack and thus with the best mathematical odds to make the money was Dylan Honeyman, who had 517k chips bagged.
Other notables finished with big stacks too, including Jean-Pascal Savard, who finished second. Bobby Zhang and Daniel Engels finished with large stacks as well, namely with 425.9k and 421.3k respectively. James Obst joined the top ranks too, with 378.5k chips to his name. Ari Engel, Mustapha Kanit and Joe Hachem (enjoying the advantages of home-court) also finished with large-enough stacks.
Not everyone was a winner on Day 2 though: Niall Farrell was bounced, together with Randy Lew, Jason Mercier and Tyrone Krost - who fell victim to Benjamin Pollak.
