18 players returned to do battle on the 4th day of the 2011 Aussie Millions’ Main Event. The stakes were high, as the survivors of the day would all make the final table. Chris Moorman started the day in pole position, but he hit some snags and failed to tide his advantage through to the final table. He did survive but his 955k chips were only enough for 8th place.
The player with the most chips at the end of the day was Randy Dorfman. He’ll begin the final table sitting on a stack of 3.895 million chips. Patrik Antonius, one of the large stacks, had a rollercoaster ride of a day. Eventually, he made the final table on a stack of 1.3 million.
The other players to make the final table were Jeff Rossiter, James Keys, Michael Ryan, David Gorr and Sam Razavi.
Mark Vos’ fall from glory was extremely spectacular at the beginning of the day. He started the action second in chips, but after he got the goods into the middle in the worst possible spot, he was the first one to hit the rail. Tobias Reikenmeier was the second victim of the day. Sorel Mizzi was bounced in 9th place, by Michael Ryan. Mizzi got his chips in good on a set against Ryan’s top pair, and he proceeded to make a boat on the turn as the board paired. The river gave Ryan a bigger boat though to give him the win.
The original plans for the day said nothing about stopping the action once the final 8 was reached, but since there were no eliminations after several hours of 8-handed melee, the day was called nonetheless.
The Australia Heads-up Championship’s second day 1 flight got rolling on Friday too. Event #15, the 8-game mixed event – originally planned to be a one day event – continued on Friday with the last 4 participants returning to the tables. Event #17, the $2,200
NL Holdem 6-handed event got going as well.
