Over the last few months, there have been lots of poker/gambling-related changes happening in Atlantic City in particular and in New Jersey in general. Online poker and online gambling have been legalized and regulated in the Garden State, and the action has already kicked off, albeit with less-than-anticipated fervor. Besides all the online fuss though, Atlantic City casinos are not forgetting about their brick and mortar facilities either. Bally’s Atlantic City, one of the Caesars Entertainment proprieties, have moved their poker room and massively upgraded it. According to a recent press release, the poker room has been moved from the 6th floor of the casino to the Old West-themed area, and it will now offer no fewer than 42 tables. There will be some dedicated tournament tables as well, and the whole thing is under the
WSOP brand. Everything considered, the move has effectively doubled the number of live poker tables awaiting players at Bally’s Atlantic City.
Built around the WSOP brand, as said above, the new poker room will push the online operation WSOP.com. Featuring state-of-the-art amenities, the poker room comes complete with free WiFi, charging stations for mobile devices as well as 20 HD television sets showing various local and national sporting events around the clock. Those who get hungry while in action at the green felt will get tableside food and beverages from Wild About Wings.
Besides the poker room, the Casino will also overhaul its Party Pit entertainment area. According to Kevin Ortzman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City proprieties, the renovations will turn Bally’s into a top destination, offering a state-of-the-art poker facility as well as a party-pit which will essentially take the live entertainment business to the next level.
The Pacific Avenue entrance of the casino will also be re-opened as part of the overhaul.
