Big Event Main Event – Day 4 report

The 4th day of the Big Event’s Main Event was to be the shortest and lightest day of the poker tournament. The original starting field of 417 already reduced to 22, the objective for the day was one well within reach of the field: the final table. It only took them 5 hours to play down to it, and when everything was said and done, Jeremy Ausmus sat atop the leader board with a stack of 4 million chips.
The day started out on a rather belligerent note: Josh Field and Alex Kamberis had some sort of a bone to pick and they exchanged a few ‘niceties’ on its account. They never got to play against each-other though and the frustration must’ve gotten the better of them both as they both failed to survive the day.
Nobody was stingy with the chips during the early going, thus it only took a few hands for the first victim, Mike Kucinski, to hit the rail. Soon afterwards, Bryan Barille shoved all-in on an As, Ks only to be called by Santiago Nadal, who had a J,J in his pocket. The coin-flip went Nadal’s way and Barille joined Kucinski on the rail.
Having finished runner up in the NAPT event about a year ago there, Chris DeMaci had fond memories of the Bicycle Casino. Things turned sour for him in a hurry though, when his A,K lost the flip against Taylor Von Kriegenbergh’s pocket Qs.
Ausmus, the end of the day chip leader, built his stack steadily through the day. He scored a big addition to it when he eliminated Wade Townsend in 11th place. Townsend looked like he was poised to double up on that hand, but the river gave a backdoor straight to Ausmus and he was done.
Victor Ramdin, the start of the day chip leader finished with the second largest stack. Taylor von Kriegenbergh finished with a decent stack as well.
