Big One for One Drop – Dwan and Ivey Playing

The Big One for one Drop is a record setting poker tournament: never before in the history of the game did 40+ players cough up $1 million in buy-ins to play down to a winner and never before have some many big guns bellied up to the tables of the same tournament.
Although one would think that only highly skilled poker professionals would play in an event like the Big One, some of these very guys have been known to quip about the value in the event, value provided by the numerous recreational players who have already registered. Capped at 48, the event has already attracted quite a starting field. Phil Ivey will definitely be there, together with Tom Dwan and Bobby Baldwin. Daniel Negreanu will also play, as will Erik Seidel and Ben Lamb.

The event is scheduled to run from July 1 to July 3 and it will be streamed live online. The final day of the Big One will be broadcast live.

The event has a touch of charity in it too, as a part of the buy-ins will go to Guy Laliberte’s One Drop foundation, which is dedicated to providing clean drinking water to areas of the globe where it’s currently unavailable.
11.1% is the exact amount that will go to charity from each and every buy-in, which means that the total amount of donations will handily exceed $5 million. The poker tournament will not take any rake thus the prize-pool is guaranteed to be a massive one, despite the donations.

Even though some of the pros who have bought in have rejoiced at the quality of the competition, and even though there are numerous businessmen, CEOs and hedge fund managers in the lineup, the vast majority of the field is still made up of poker professionals, so the going is definitely not going to be easy.
The list of participants only becomes official after the completion of 4 levels of action. Players will start with 3 million chips in their stacks.
