Blom Loses Biggest Winner of the Year Spot

In the wake of the 2013 WSOP,
Full Tilt Poker pro Viktor Blom has had a rather tough stretch at the high stakes tables, losing money left and right and eventually giving up the biggest
online poker cash game winner of the year position too. At first, Blom’s decision to skip the WSOP altogether in favor of playing in high stakes cash games online seemed like an inspired move indeed. He put together an impressive winning spree and managed to shoot into the biggest winner of the year position with $5.2 million in profits at one point, more than $2 million ahead of the nearest competitor.
Last week however, that run came to an abrupt and rather painful halt: Blom dropped over $1.4 million, becoming the biggest loser of the week.
This week, his meltdown continued. This time, he did in fact manage to avoid becoming the biggest loser again, but he lost a massive amount of money, enough to drop below Kyle Hendon in overall profits.
Blom logged 7,034 hands spread over 57 different sessions, losing a total of $711.1k. Although – as said above – Blom managed to avoid becoming the biggest loser of the week again , he wasn’t far off the mark: the only one who overtook him was Isaac Haxton and not by much: Haxton dropped $792.5k. Danoking, kagome kagome and HelicopterBen82 were the other big losers of the week.
A player known as “Rhje” was the biggest winner. He took down a $982.6k profit. Others who profited from the above listed losers’ meltdowns were Kyle Ray and Trueteller. Alex Millar and Daniel Cates joined the winners’ list as well.
Most of Rhje’s profits came on Thursday, when he pocketed more than $420k at the $400/$800 NLHE tables.
