Bob Chow Wins WSOP-C Hammond Main Event

The WSOP-C’s Hammond Main Event set a new attendance record. 1,615 players showed up for the event, combining buy-ins for a prize-pool of $2,349,825. The Hammond stop of the WSOP-C started out on the right foot: its first event drew a starting field of 3,001 players, which was the largest starting field in the history of the WSOP-C.
Bob Chow emerged with the win at the end of the Main Event, taking down the top prize of $393k. 20 players returned to the green felt on the last day of the Main Event, all of them looking to finish as deep as possible. Eric Crain was the one who had the most chips at the beginning of the day. The action got off to a fast start, and before they knew it, 7 players were on the rail, looking in from the outside. The final table bubble boy was Alan Murphy who bit the dust in 10th place, picking up $32.1k for his efforts.

Chow had the chip lead when the final table kicked off, however Eric Crain was still very much alive. He was the one who drew first blood at the final table by sending Shawn Quinn packing. Dan Harrington (not the Harrington you’re thinking of) was eliminated in 8th place. Drazen Ilich picked up pocket Ks next and shoved all-in. Chow was the one who made the call with J,10o.
Joe Hebda staked his tournament life on an Ah, 10h he’d picked up. Aaron Steury made the call with pocket Js. The board ran out a bunch of blanks and even though he picked up a pair of 10s on the river, Hebda bit the dust too.
Dave Neff followed him to the rail, followed in turn by Eric Crain. Erik Roussakis’ elimination in 3rd place set up the heads-up battle between Steury and Chow.
The final hand of the event saw Chow’s J,3o best Steury’s 5,4o.
