Borgata Winter Poker Open – Day 7 Report

Unlike the previous days of the Borgata Winter Poker Open, Day 7 only served up one event: event #8, which saw two of its Day 1 flights go into the books. The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa played host to Day 1B and Day 1C of the $400 Deeper Stack
NL Holdem re-entry event, which offers a guaranteed prize-pool of $250k.
Both above said flights of the
poker tournament saw 16 levels go into the books, and thus, early on Tuesday, the first day of the event has been officially put in the rearview mirror. Chris Kash was the one who finished with the largest stack, after he finished Day 1B of the event in the lead. He was rewarded with a special $2k prize for his efforts. Kash had some 426k chips bagged.
Efraim Hirschman finished with the second largest stack: his 417k chips were enough for a $1k reward.
Matthew Elson, Ryan Austin and TJ Shulman finished with big stacks as well, but none of them were rewarded extra.
On Day 1C, Jason Rivkin finished with the largest stack, barely edging out Joe McKeehen, who’s already the winner of a 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open event.
Besides the above said chip leaders, plenty of other people finished with large stacks too. Dan Heimiller and Amanda Musumeci were among them, together with a slew of other notables.
Day 1A of the event saw 56 players have their Day 2 tickets punched. Day 1B added 146 survivors to that, and 111 earned their Day 2 seats on Day 1C. That means a total of 313 players will return to action on Day 2.
The overall chip leader is David Gerassi, who ended up with a stack of 429k chips after Day 1A.
Event #10 and event #11 are scheduled to kick off on Day 8 of the Series, as event #8 will continue with its second day.
