Online poker grinder Brian Hastings accomplished a major feat about a week ago: by winning event #27 of the
2015 WSOP, he took down his second bracelet, quite a major milestone indeed for someone who is known for his online exploits more than anything else. Then, a couple of days ago, Hastings did it again: this time, he won event#39, the $1.5k six-max 10-game one for his third overall bracelet and the second one of the summer. Although his reward was "only" $133k, he did best a starting field of 380 players, and it was not a championship event that he won so his accomplishment does indeed carry a special meaning. The one Hastings defeated heads-up for the title was Rostislav Tsodikov, who ended up with a prize of $82.3k.

Todd Brunson played in the event too and he made it all the way to 3rd place before bowing out, $52.9k in his pocket. Other notables who made deep runs in the event were Alexey Makarov and Mike Watson. For Watson, this year's WSOP was a pretty frustrating one albeit a profitable one at the same time: he made several deep runs in various events but he doesn't have a single piece of jewelry to show for it. His 6th place in the above said event was worth some $16.8k.
Hasting was not the only winner of what was Day 25 of the WSOP. Wunstel Topples walked away with a bracelet as well, one he picked up by winning event #36, the $1.5k PLO one. He bested Kevin Saul heads-up, taking home $266.8k for his efforts.
