Gary, from Costa Mesa, California, had an Ad, 10d in his pocket, and got his chips into the middle against the pocket Js of another player known only as “Linda” who was from Georgetown, Indiana. The flop fell Kd, Jd, 4h, giving Gary a gutshot straight flush draw, but hitting his opponent for the set. The Qd which fell on the turn was a miracle card for Gary, giving him his straight flush and the pot, but one more card was needed for the jackpot to be taken down. Lo and behold though, the one-outer hit on the river (Js) giving Linda a losing hand of four Js.
The two players who took part in the above described hand were not the only ones to rejoice at the news that they had just hit the $766,951 Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot. Players all over Caesars Entertainment’s poker rooms throughout Sin City got a piece of the pie.
Everyone accounted for, a total of 198 players were rewarded with a bite of the jackpot, the lion’s share of which ended up with the two main protagonists of curse. Linda was the one who got the biggest cut: her share was $156,189, while Gary was rewarded with $79.4k. The other players entitled for some jackpot money all got $2.7k.
