Caribbean Poker Tour – Last Details Hammered Out

The Caribbean has always been a popular destination for poker, especially in the winter, when – for many poker players from the Northern Hemisphere – it represents an opportunity to put in a nice, warm tropical vacation away from the cold of the winter, coupled up with some top-class poker action. Needless to say, the Caribbean Poker Tour (CPT), which is set to kick off next month on the island of St Maarten, is marketed as such a poker-related winter getaway too. The tour will offer a total of 12 events, including some special ones like a WPT Main Event as well as a $7k Lucky Number 7 High Roller. The latter will be hosted by professional poker player and GPI Player of the Year front-runner Marvin Rettenmaier.

Although it had been announced quite a while back, not much has been known about the details regarding the Lucky Number 7 until now. The organizers have apparently finally ironed out all the details and they have made them all public the other day.
The high roller players will start with a pretty deep stack of 70k chips. On top of that, unlimited re-entries will be allowed during the first 10 levels of action, which means that pros with well-established bankrolls will enjoy a clear edge here. The first re-entry will only cost $6, and subsequent ones will be even cheaper at $5k.
The duration of the first 10 levels of action is 30 minutes each. From the 10th level onward, each level will last for an hour.
Late registration is will be possible as well, right up until the end of the 4th level.

According to the CPT’s Leon Groenewoud, the poker tour presents players with the opportunity to take their families with them on what could turn into the vacation of a lifetime.
CPT packages (each of which contains at least 2 entries) are available at iPoker sites like Titan Poker and William Hill.
