Daniel Negreanu Wins 2013 WSOPE €25.6k High Roller

To say that PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu has had a great 2013 WSOP-E run at this point would probably be a massive understatement. Having clinched the 2013 WSOP Player of the Year title upon making the final table of the €25.6k High Roller, Negreanu decided to go all the way and he ended winning the poker tournament, picking up his 6th gold bracelet.
The player Negreanu disposed of heads-up for the win was Brazil’s Nicolau Villa-Lobos, whose story was an interesting one as well: Villa-Lobos earned his seat in the high roller through a live satellite. He picked up €450k for his efforts, so he was certainly happy with what he managed to achieve in the tournament.
Needless to say, the final table was full of big names: Philipp Gruissem finished 3rd for €250k. Scott Seiver made it all the way to 6th place, picking up €74.6k. Jason Koon and Erik Seidel were there at the top of the pops too.

13 players returned to the tables at the beginning of the final day of action, but with the money bubble set for 9th place, nothing had been etched in stone yet. Tom Bedell was the first one to bite the dust, on the very first hand of the day no less. He was followed to the rail by Phil Laak and Byron Kaverman.
The action froze on the bubble, and it took the field more than 2 hours to dispose of the bubble-boy. The dubious honor ended up in Marc McLaughlin’s possession.
With the bubble out of the way, Finland’s Joni Jouhkimainen was the first one to head to the payout booth in 9th place. His reward was €50.4k.
Erik Seidel followed him out the door, his 8th place worth €55.4k. Koon and Seiver followed them to the sidelines.
