Delaware Looking to Keep Up With New Jersey Online Gambling-wise

The state of Delaware has long emerged as a serious competitor for New Jersey’s Atlantic City and Delaware lawmakers have never made a secret of the fact that they were looking to turn their jurisdiction into a top online gambling/poker destination too.
With things in this respect moving ahead by leaps and bounds in New Jersey, Delaware gambling interests have certainly felt the pressure lately, therefore the first move towards the implementation of real money
online poker and gambling made the other day, may be considered a sort of response to the Garden State’s efforts.
That first step was about the soft-launching of internet gambling, announced by Delaware state officials on Thursday. The soft-launch is basically about testing the systems out on a select group of specially vetted players located within the state limits. The actual launch of legal real money online gambling in Delaware is set for November 8, and that does not leave a whole lot of time for testing.
According to State Lottery director Vernon Kirk, there will be enough time to make sure that everything runs smoothly before the actual launch, but if the tests fail, the launch-date can theoretically be pushed back.
The services currently being tested are by no means simple or non-essential. Among the said services are transfers from players’ bank accounts to those of the casino and vice-versa, as well as slots, roulette, blackjack and poker game-play.
According to inside sources, each of the people involved in the testing period following the soft-launch have been involved in the play money action started back in August too.
Details about how the operation will work aren’t currently known, what is known though is that the games are likely to be provided by IGT, one of the selected slot vendors of the state.
