Dietrich Fast Wins 2014 WSOP-E Oktoberfest

On Tuesday morning, the €550 Oktoberfest event (#2 of the Series) of the 2015 WSOP-E played down to its winner. The one who took down the bracelet and the top prize was a German: Dietrich Fast kept the goods at home, picking up €157,749 and his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet. His accomplishment wasn't one to sneeze at by any standard: on his way to the top, he bested no fewer than 2,144 players, in a poker tournament which featured 4 Day 1 flights.
Nine players returned to the tables on the last day of the event. The first to hit the rail was Harry Lodge, who put his tournament life onto the line with an A,Qo against Steve O'Dwyer's Ac, Kc. Jorn Winter followed him out the door in 8th place, after he got his last chips into the middle on an Qh, 10h against Rodrigo Caprioli's pocket Js.

Sandro Wuest was the next one to be sent packing after being subjected to a bad beat by Vojtech Cervinka, who made a flush against the former's pocket Qs. The next player to bite the proverbial dust was Adrian Apmann, who was sent packing by the same Cervinka.
Steve O'Dwyer was an unlikely victim, considering that he had been riding a large stack for most of the final table, but alas, he bowed out next, heading home in 5th place, having dropped two massive pots to Fast and then his last chips to Rodrigo Caprioli.
Cervinka fell next at Fast's hands. He was followed to the rail by Caprioli, he too Fast's victim. The heads-up action lasted for more than 3 hours as John Gale mounted a furious comeback. Eventually though, he was forced to settle for €97.8k and second place.
