Durrrr challenge: 15,000 hand mark reached, Antonius in the lead

Dwan and Antonius are indeed serious about completing their $1 million challenge series…some time…Nothing speaks more about their commitment than the fact that despite their presence at the WSOP and despite the fact that they both intend to play in some of the events there, they found time to log a 3-hour long challenge session the other day and to complete a further 874 hands of the required 50,000. This latest round brought the total of challenge series hands the two have completed to 15,000. This session was a balanced one: both players have won and lost some big pots. At the end of it, it was still Antonius who walked away $23,053 in the black to further extend his lead over Dwan, to a commanding $447,684 overall.

Antonius was the first one to score a big pot on the #2 challenge table. The money went all in on the turn and Antonius tabled a nut flush draw against Dwan’s pair of Qs and straight draw. The river filled Antonius’ flush though and thus the $157,596 pot ended up in his possession.
For 90 minutes, things appeared to go smoothly and no monster pot developed on any of the challenge tables. Then, suddenly, two monsters struck simultaneously.
On challenge table 1, the money went all-in on the turn of a board of Qh,9d,6c,3d. Antonius tabled J,J, 5,5 for a pair of Jacks and a flush draw. Dwan had A,A, K,8. The river bricked out (it was the 3c) and Dwan took down the $124,378 pot with a pair of rockets.
Meanwhile, on Challenge table 3, the money went all-in on the flop of 6s,5c,4s, as Antonius had Kh, Ks, Js, Jh and Dwan had Ac, Ad, 9h, 3c. The turn fell the 7c, giving Dwan a nut flush draw. The 4d on the river sealed the fate of the pot, and Dwan took down another 6-figure pot (a $122,559 one this time).

The largest pot of the session was a $200,313 one, a true heavyweight even among monsters. The money went all-in on the river and Dwan hit a boat (10s full of 8s) to take down the pot. Despite the fact that Dwan won the majority of the monster pots, Antonius scrapped well in the smaller ones and thus managed to finish the session ahead once again.
