Dwan storms back to reclaim Challenge lead

In another durrrr Challenge session in which the two players logged 411 hands and which lasted for about 80 minutes, Tom Dwan finally shook off the streak of bad luck following him around and managed to not only erase Antonius’ lead which the latter had built up during their last session, but to claim the lead right back too.
He won $123,849 during this spell, and grabbed a lead of $15,238 which under the circumstances is a marginal difference at best.

There were 5 large noteworthy pots in the session and Dwan laid his hands on all 5 of them. The two descended upon the 4 special challenge tables with Dwan having bought in for $60,000 and Antonius for $40,000.
The first monster pot, an $80,000 one unfolded on the very first hand the two played. There was a preflop raise by Antonius which got called by Dwan. The flop fell 10c, 6c, 5h and Antonius bet, got raised by durrrr and called. A 7h fell on the turn, and durrrr check-raised again. That move got Antonius all-in, and he tabled Ad,10d,8h,6d for two pair. Durrrr already had a 10-high straight and a flush draw as well with his Kh, Qd, 9h, 8c, and just to add insult to injury, the river came a Jh to fill up his flush draw as well.

Antonius refueled, and the action started anew. It only took that same table a few more minutes to develop another monster pot. This time it was a $55,200 pot which went Dwan’s way too, courtesy of the pressure he successfully piled onto his opponent and which resulted in a fold on Antonius’ part.

Another similar hand with similar results and an almost identical-size pot ($57,600) came about at the same table where Dwan had amassed a $120,000 stack. The huge stack allowed him to pile on the pressure, and his skillful tactics lead to another monster pot jotted down next to his name. The largest pot of the session was an $81,184 one which Dwan claimed thanks to the nut boat he had flopped.
The session came to an end when Dwan began to fall asleep at his keyboard and was eventually forced to call it the day.
