EPT Berlin – Day 4 Report

The 4th day of the EPT’s Berlin Main Event saw 24 players return to the tables with the goal of playing right down to the final table. Four and a half levels and 16 eliminated players later, the goal had been reached: the final table was set and Davidi Kitai was the one sitting on the largest stack. Kitai managed to accumulate 5,695,000 chips, quite a bit more than second place man Bahadir Kilickeser, who only had 4,640,000.
Although his advantage going into the final stretch is massive indeed, Kitai, an experienced pro who has amassed $1.8 million from tournament winnings and won a WSOP bracelet in 2008, knows he still has plenty to do. He cashed in no fewer than 4
EPT events too, so he definitely has the experience needed to pull off a win in this one.
Kitai started day 4 slowly, but he caught fire toward the later stages of the action. The first massive pot he took down was one against Pratyush Buddiga. In that hand, Kitai made a set of 8s on the turn and got paid off big time. Another massive late pot he pocketed came at the end of a hand in which he called short-stacked Jordi Ribba Corrons’ all-in with pocket Ks. It turned out Corrons had but a pair of 5s and Kitai proceeded to add insult to injury by making a set of Ks and then a full house on the turn.
The said hand was the one who bounced the last player on Day 4, setting the final table and ending the hostilities for the day.
A total of 8 players will return on the last day to battle it out for the title.
Kitai is joined by Mario Puccini, Andrew Chen, Andre Morath, Marc Wright and Cesar Garcia. Pratyush Buddiga will also be back. With a stack of 3,600,000 chips, Chen will definitely be someone to watch at the final table.
