The EPT Deauville’s High Roller went into the books on Saturday, its winner Dominik Panka, the player who won the Main Event of the
PokerStars Caribbean Adventure back in January. For this accomplishment, Panka was rewarded with a €272k prize.
The final day of the
poker tournament saw 8 players return to the official final table to play down to a winner and indeed, it only took them about 6 hours to fulfill that objective.
The first victim of the day was Adrian Mateos Diaz, whose 8th place was worth €37k. Not surprisingly, Panka was the one who sent him packing, his A,K sweeping Diaz’s Ah,3h clean out of the way.
The next player to bite the dust was Nikolay Losev, who was rewarded with €49.1k for his 7th place. Albert Daher was the one responsible for his demise.
Losev was followed to the payout booth by Davidi Kitai. Kitai had actually held the chip lead for a while, thanks to a few major pots he picked off Daher, but when he tried to pull a bluff or two against Panka, his luck ran out. Eventually, that turned out to be his undoing too. He shoved all-in on a 4c, 3c against Panka’s pocket rockets and his tournament run came to an end. Kitai picked up €64.2k.
Kitai was followed to the rail by Martin Schleich within a few hands. Schleich’s share of the prize-pool was €81.5k.
Ondrej Vinklarek was the next one to exit. Sent packing by Daher, he picked up €101k for his efforts.
Kent Lundmark was the next one to hit the rail at Panka’s hands in 3rd place. His reward was €122k.
The heads-up stage of the tournament saw Daher take the early lead, but Panka eventually stormed back, putting his opponent away for good.
Daher’s share of the prize-pool was €189k.
