EPT Deauville Main Event - Day 4 in the Books

The 4th day of the European Poker Tour's Deauville Main Event went into the books on Thursday. Four full levels of action went into the day, at the end of which 15 players remained standing. Local player Joseph Carlino was the one who finished with the largest stack, which - considering the number of French players who took to the felt in the poker tournament - didn't really come as a surprise. The beginning of the day saw 36 players return to the tables, all looking to earn a seat into Day 5, and they weren't going to sit around waiting for an opportunity. As soon as the action kicked off, everyone swung into action and the eliminations started piling up right away. Among those eliminated during the early stages of the day was PokerStars' own Bertrand Grospellier, who eventually bit the dust in 31st place. The last PokerStars pro left in the field, Grospellier was bounced by Joseph El Khoury.

EPT champion Ruben Visser followed Grospellier to the rail shortly. He was bounced by David Van Den Berg, together with Lucas Monnier, whose tournament life was curbed in that same hand. The eliminations continued to pile up, as player after player was sent to the sidelines. Among those bounced was Day 1 chip leader Guillaume Darcourt too, who ended up in 19th place. The last player to hit the rail was Adrien Guyon, sent packing in 16th place.
Carlino, the chip leader, had some 2.7 million chips bagged. Carlo Savinelli finished second with 2.5 million. Benjamin Pollak made the top 10 too: his 877k chips were enough for 8th place.
