EPT London Main Event – Day 3 Report

The third day of the EPT’s London Main Event saw 106 players return to the tables, looking to play down past the money bubble before anything else. Set for 88th place, the bubble was indeed tantalizingly close, although for the short-stacks still in the running, it was probably not close enough.
Obviously, 19 players would go home empty-handed, and among them, there would be several “name” players. Tom Middleton, Davidi Kitai, Paul Volpe and Kyle Julius were interestingly all among those who were sent home with the proverbial wooden spoon. Maximilian Senft, one of the day 1 chip leaders, was also bounced before the bubble. The bubble eventually burst when Steven Lewzey got his last chips into the middle holding an Ac,10c and got called by Ziv Vachar, who had pocket rockets. Lewzey’s elimination allowed the rest of the survivors to relax and to loosen up a bit again.

A total of 4 levels of action went into the day, at the end of which 45 players were left alive. The one to have the largest stack bagged after all was said and done was Martin Kozlov, who finished with 1.35 million chips to his name.
None of the PokerStars pros made the cut. The deepest-finishing name player was Sweden’s Robin Ylitalo, who had 716k chips bagged.
EPT commentator David Yan actually managed to shoot past the 1 million chip mark, finishing with a little over 1 million chips, but we’re not sure he can be considered a “name” player at this stage.
Tudor Purice, the start of the day chip leader, conserved his advantage reasonably well: he finished with 825k chips to his name. Jeff Rossiter had a healthy stack bagged away as well: 601k chips.

Timothy Adams and Paul Berende were among the survivors too, albeit on much smaller stacks.
