EPT London Main Event – Day 4 Report
Posted by: James Carter. - Fri, 2013-10-11 11:59
The objective for the 4th day of the EPT’s London Main Event was to play down to the final 16, and that objective has indeed been handily accomplished within just four levels of action. The player who finished the day with the largest stack was David Yan, one of
PokerStars’ online players, who is also known in poker circles for his 2013 Aussie Millions accomplishments. Yan finished with 2.3 million chips to his name. Martin Kozlov, the start of the day chip leader, also survived day 4, having 1.66 million chips bagged at the end.
Robin Ylitalo did even better than that though: he finished with 2.1 million chips.
Ludovic Gelich and Jan Olav Sjavik finished with healthy stacks as well: they had 1.44 million and 1.16 million bagged respectively.
Jeff Rossiter survived Day 4 too, albeit on a much shorter stack of 997k chips.
As soon as the action kicked off, heads began rolling. One of the early victim’s of the day was Viktor Blom’s brother, Sebastian, who was bounced by Stefan Vagner, who had pocket 10s against Blom’s pocket 8s. No help came on the board for either hand involved and thus Blom became the first victim of the day.
Timothy Adams joined Blom on the sidelines, followed by Kitty Kuo, Paul Berende and Dave Ulliott. Ulliott fell in 31st place, picking up a £14.9k reward for his efforts. Like Blom before him, he put his tournament life onto the line with pocket 8s. Georgios Karakousis was the one who called him with an Ad, 3d, proceeding to make a pair of As on the turn.
Ulliott was by far not the only “name” player to see his tournament life come to an abrupt end at this stage. Others who fell were Shannon Shorr, Salman Behbehani and Andy Moseley.
