EPT Malta - Day 3 of Main Event, Day 1 of High Roller in the Books

The beginning of the 3rd day of the EPT's Malta Main Event saw 56 players return to the tables, eager to play down as close to the final table as possible. For 23 of them, the final table dream is still alive. At the end of the day, Antonin Duda had the largest stack bagged. He had some 3.47 million chips to his name. Duda, who is from the Czech Republic, is hardly new to the EPT tables. His biggest cash came from an EPT event too: in Season 9, in Barcelona, he made a deep run in the Main Event, finishing 7th eventually and picking up a €125.9k reward for his efforts. Duda is also an online poker buff. In fact, his EPT Malta seat came from one of PokerStars' EPT qualifiers.

Duda's chip lead was far from certain up until the very last hand of the night, when he managed to pick up a massive pot from Alexander Ivarsson. Fedor Holz and Robin Ylitalo were also among the 23 survivors.
In other EPT Malta news: the €10.3k High Roller got going and it did so in style indeed, with no fewer than 288 buy-ins going into its prize-pool. Of that, 228 represented unique registrations and 60 were re-entries. The prize-pool - although not yet final - stands at an impressive €2.8 million already.
Given the size of the buy-in, it wasn't exactly a surprise that "name" competitors dominated the Day 1 field. Some of them fired two bullets and the unluckiest missed both times: Ole Schemion and Bryn Kenney both belonged to this crowd. Rui Ferreira finished with the largest stack, as the field played down to 152.
