EPT Malta High Roller - David Peters Wins

The €10.3k High Roller of the EPT's Malta stop is in the books and its winner is David Peters from the US. Peters made no deals on his way to the top: he took down the €597k top prize, and the SLYDE watch that came with it. The one Peters disposed of heads-up was Ivan Luca from Argentina, whose reward was €397k. Given the size of the winner's share of the money, it doesn't exactly come as a surprise that this haul was the largest one of Peters' live poker career.
Russia's Viacheslav Goryachev finished in 3rd place, taking down a €290.5k prize. As far as notables go, Ukraine's Artem Metalidi made it all the way to 4th place, picking up €234.5k for his efforts, and Sylvain Loosli of France finished in 8th place for €75k.

18 players returned to the tables at the beginning of the day, all of them securely in the money, but obviously, no one wanted to even think about anything less than a final table run. Sam Greenwood was the first victim of the day: he collected €32k for his efforts. At this point, Steve O'Dwyer was still in contention, but he too would bid farewell to the
poker tournament soon, sent packing by Daniel Ghionoiu.
Mike McDonald was bounced too, in 11th place, but his demise did not set the final table just yet, leaving two tables of 5 players each. The final table bubble-boy was Marc Etienne McLaughlin, who was bounced in 10th place by Goryachev and his pocked deuces.
