EPT Malta Main Event - Day 2 Report

The second day of the European Poker Tour's Malta Main Event went into the books on Tuesday, as the survivors from the day 1 flights finally got together under the same roof. A total of 386 players showed up at the beginning of the day and by the time things were wrapped up, only 131 of them were left standing. The one who brought the largest Day 1 stack into Day 2 was Carmelo Crucitti. He failed to retain his leading spot though: at the end of Day 2, Sweden's Alexander Ivarsson had the largest stack piled up in front of him.
Day 2 was an important one in the sense that its start saw the closing of the registration-period, thus essentially locking up the final statistics for the tournament. A total of 651 buy-ins have been registered, which gave birth to a prize-pool of €3.15 million. This means that 95 players will walk away from the tables with something to show for their efforts. Those busting out early in the money will have to settle for €9.32k, while the eventual winner will receive some €602.4k.
