The Prague Hilton hosted 177 players on Day 2 of the European Poker Tour’s Prague event. Casey Kastle, Juha Helppi, Johnny Lodden, Steve Devlin and Gino Alacqua were among the survivors who started on Day 2, unfortunately, by the end of the day, none of them was among those who would go on to play on Day 3.

Steve Devlin’s elimination came at the end of a hand in which he got all-in on a flush draw holding a Qh,8h, on a board of 7h, Kh, 10d. Rifat Palevic held a 10,6 for the pair and as the turn fell a 9d and the river fell a 2s he took down the pot sending Devlin to the rail. Joris Jaspers won a huge pot off Sorin Posa on a heart-break of a hand in which the latter held the top pair top kicker on a board of 5,K,3,3,2. Jaspers however, tabled pocket rockets to send him home and to vault to the chip lead.

Erich Kollman became the bubble boy when he busted out in 7th at the hands of Rifat Palevic who tabled pocket kings to best his A,Q.
The usual tight play before the bubble turned into an eliminations frenzy after Kollman’s exit. All those who rooted it out to make the money began firing away and the general helter-skelter that ensued claimed the tournament lives of Johnny Lodden, Juha Helppi and Alessio Isaia.

Dario Minieri got all his chips in at the end of a raising-contest against Raul Mestre. When all the chips were in the pot, Minieri tabled Q,Q against Mestre’s A,Q. The flop fell 7,A,6 dealing Minieri’s odds a huge blow, one that they never recovered from as the turn fell a 3 and the river an 8.
Raul Mestre made some further additions to his stack at the expense of Juan Manual Pastor and eventually finished the day near the top of the leader board.

Frederic Nygard took Juan Maceiras’ stack to shoot to the chip lead, a position to which he managed to hold on till the end.
Ludovic Lacay, who had started the day on a healthy stack, managed to hold on to it and to gradually increase it too, which meant he finished 2nd with 513,000 chips.
