EPT Prague – Day 3 Report

The 3rd day of the
Season 9 EPT Prague was set to be a crucial one from the get-go: it would be the day that would decide exactly who would make the money and who wouldn’t. With the bubble for 128th place and with 161 players returning to action, the beginning of the day was set to be an explosive one.
Five levels of action went into the day, at the end of which 55 players remained in contention. Ramzi Jelassi was the one who managed to finish the day with the largest stack.
33 players went home empty handed before the money bubble was reached. Mike Watson and Kent Lundmark were among those with nothing to show for their
EPT Prague efforts. Ignat Liviu busted before the bubble as well.
With 129 players remaining, the action slowed to a crawl. Rasmus Agreskov was the one who broke the ice by shoving all-in preflop on an Ah, 8h only to be called by Andreas Berggren, who had pocket Ks. Needless to say, Berggren prevailed and Agreaskov became the official bubble-boy of the event.
As the action sped back up, players began hitting the rail by the droves. Sergey Baranov, Juan Emanuel Pastor and Bertrand Grospellier all fell victim to the post-bubble surge. Vincent Van de Fruit made it all the way to 57th place, but eventually he too was forced to admit defeat. While some were heading for the rail, others were thriving at the tables. The end of the day chip leader, Ramzi Jelassi, clinched the top spot pretty late in the day, after he took a huge pot from Sirzat Hissou. The said pot ended up costing the latter his tournament life. Hissou had pocket Qs against Jelassi’s pocket rockets, and the rest is history.
