The 4th day of the
Season 9 EPT Prague saw 55 players belly up to the tables, looking to play down as close to the final table as possible. After about 3 levels of action, the day was called and the 21 players who still had chips left in front of them, left the tables to prepare for Day 5. The player who finished the day with the largest stack was Ben Warrington. Warrington managed to amass 2.6 million chips, about 150k more than second place man David Boyaciyan. Boyaciyan had 2.46 million chips bagged.
Ramzi Jelassi, the start of the day chip leader, put in a strong Day 4 effort too: he finished in 3rd place, behind a stack of 1.97 million chips. No one with the exception of the top two finishers managed to cross the 2 million chips mark.
As soon as the action kicked off, players began biting the dust left and right. During the early going, a massive 3-way pot developed. Jorma Nuutinen had pocket rockets against Luca Giovannone’s Q,Jo and Jason Helder’s A,Ko. The chips were pushed into the middle before the flop, and even though the board did give Giovannone a pair of Qs, it failed to dethrone Nuutinen’s pocket rockets. Nuutinen’s stack gained a huge boost, while Giovannone hit the rail and Helder was left crippled.
A few hands later, he too busted at the hands of Radu Catoiu.
Johnny Lodden picked up a nice pile of chips from Robert Kokoska before the first level ended.
Chris Brammer - one of the start of the day large-stacks - on the other hand, bowed out, after his pocket 3s fell to Sergio Aido Espina’s pocket Ks. The hand which thrust Warrington into the lead was one in which his A,A beat Johnny Lodden’s pocket 10s.
