EPT Prague Main Event – Day 4 Report

61 players returned to the green felt at the beginning of the 4th day of the EPT’s Season 10 Prague Main Event. The initial goal of the day was for the field to play down to 16, but since that proved to be unattainable, the organizers called the day at the end of the 5th level of action. 22 players remained in contention, having punched their tickets for Day 5. The one who finished with the largest stack was Max Silver, who had 3.98 million chips bagged. Silver was followed by Julian Track, with a little over 3 million chips, and Ole Schemion, with 2.7 million.
Stephen Chidwick had a great day as well: he finished with a little over two million chips.
Ludovic Lacay was the start of the day chip leader, and given his experience and skills, one would rightfully expected him to make it to Day 5 without problems. Unfortunately for him though, that wasn’t how things turned out for him: in an abysmal turn of luck, he squandered all his chips, and despite doing all the right things, he ended up biting the dust.
To begin with, Lacay was pushed off a major pot by Lasell King, and things continued downhill for him from there. Max Silver took a major pot off him too, with pocket rockets against Lacay’s pocket Ks. Ori Hansson was the one who put the final nail into the coffin of Lacay’s poker tournament life.

Unlike Lacay, Ole Schemion played aggressively and he got Lady Luck onto his side when needed too. Schemion’s Day 4 antics brought him awfully close to overtaking PokerStars’ Daniel Negreanu in the GPI’s PoY rankings.

Jonathan Roy was among those eliminated. He ran his pocket Ks into Stephen Chidwick’s pocket rockets on what turned out to be his final hand of the tournament.
