EPT Prague Main Event – Day 4 Report

The 4th day of the EPT’s Prague Main Event went into the books today, logging 5 more levels of action and leaving 22 players standing. The one who finished with the largest stack was Germany’s Fabio Sperling, who had 4.35 million chips to his name when the day was called.
61 players returned to the tables at the beginning of the day, looking to make it to Day 5. The pace of eliminations was rather alert during the early going: about 30 players bit the dust in a relatively short amount of time. Team PokerStars Pro’s George Danzer was among those sent packing early. His elimination came at the end of a coin-flip, which saw his pocket 4s lose out to Tamer Kamel’s A,Q. The fast pace of eliminations slowed down a bit as the day wore on, but in the end, enough players were bounced to hit the 22 player mark mentioned above.

Stephen Graner of the US held the chip lead for a while, before dropping it to Sperling. Altogether, the day was tough on the Team PokerStars Pro contingent: the sole surviving member was Vanessa Selbst, who resorted to extremely aggressive poker all day long. She eventually finished with 2.04 million chips to her name, enough for 5th place. Finishing in 4th place was Davidi Kitai, the Belgian pro, who had at one point held the chip lead too. He will bring 2.3 million chips to the table at the start of Day 5. Simon Matsson was among the survivors as well: he finished with 1.17 million chips, after he had started off as the chip leader.
