EPT Prague Main Event – Day 5 Report

The 5th day of the
EPT’s Prague Main Event saw 22 players return to the action, looking to make the final table. Day 5 turned out to be an extremely short affair, because it took the field only about one and a half levels to play down to the final table of 8.
Germany’s Julian Track started the day second in chips, and when the final table was reached, he was sitting at the top, with 7.24 million chips to his name. The start of the day chip leader, Max Silver, did well too: he finished second with 5.93 million chips.
Silver had the chip lead for most of the day, but Track eventually shot ahead during the 13th level, when he when he picked up a massive pot from Ori Hansson. Even before the flop landed on the board, the two players got some 7.6 million chips into the middle. Track had pocket 10s against Hansson’s A,Qo, and his feeble hand held, landing him a massive pot and leaving Hansson with about 2 BBs. Hanson bit the dust a few hands later in 12th place.
Max Silver had a great run as well: he started out by bouncing Tamel Kamer in 19th place. He then sent Artem Metalidi packing as well. Silver wasn’t the only nuisance at the table though: Stephen Chidwick was there as well, and when Silver took a breather from applying pressure to their unfortunate opponents, he stepped up to the plate instead. Chidwick’s march to the final table claimed the
poker tournament lives of no fewer than 5 opponents. He bounced Dmitri Holdeew, Ihar Soika, Nikita Nikolaev and Erwann Pecheux. Chidwick eventually finished with 4.93 million chips. Georgios Sotiropoulos made the final stretch as well, together with Ka Kwan Lau and Ole Schemion.
