On Wednesday, the
European Poker Tour’s Season 10 Prague Main Event finally wrapped up, and the one who walked away with the title and the record-setting top prize, was Germany’s Julian Track who ended up pocketing €725.7k for his efforts, quite a haul indeed, despite the fact that a 2-way deal he agreed to with eventual runner-up George Sotiropoulos, took a bit of a bite out of it.
The 6th and final day of the
poker tournament saw only 8 players return to the tables. The first victim of the day was Jorma Nuutinen, who got all his chips into the middle early, with an A,Ko he’d picked up. He was called by Julian Track, after Stephen Chidwick got his A,Ko out of the way. Track had pocket 10s and the first card to hit the board was a 3rd 10, giving him the lead for good. The rest of the board changed nothing and Nuutinen picked up €84.6k for his efforts.
The next victim to head to the rail was Zdravko Duvnjak from Croatia, who was rewarded with €118.2k. Max Silver was the next victim, sent packing by Stephen Chidwick.
Ole Schemion was bounced in 5th place, earning a €218.3k reward. Ka Kwan Lau followed Schemion to the rail in 4th place, before Stephen Chidwick was sent to the sidelines as well in 3rd place. Chidwick’s elimination set up the heads-up stage of the event between Sotiropoulos and Julian Track.
Track had a pretty decent chip lead, but despite that, he agreed to a deal, which gave both of them €700k and set €25.7k aside to play for. Despite the fact that he didn’t feel well, Track kept the pedal to the metal and he eventually came away with the win. The final hand of the event saw Track’s pocket 10s triumph over Sotiropoulos’ Q,Jo.
