EPT Prague Main Event – Ramzi Jelassi Wins

The final table of the EPT’s Prague Main Event reconvened on Saturday, with the goal to play down to a winner. Little did anyone know that the name of the winner and the beneficiary of the €835k prize, would only be found out 14 hours later. Eventually, it was Ramzi Jelassi who had his hand raised, picking up the title and the above said massive winner’s reward.
When the action kicked off, Jelassi was the one enjoying the comfort and the advantages offered by the largest stack at the table. Aleh Plauski was second, but he had more than a million less stacked up in front of him.

Mark Herm never gained any traction at the final table. He was the first one to bite the dust. Interestingly enough, the second victim of the day was none other than Plauski. He failed to get anything going too, he kept bleeding chips left and right until he ran into Jelassi on the very first hand following a break and he hit the rail as well. Sergey Kuzminskiy was the next player to head to the payout queue. He picked up a €150k reward for his 6th place finish. Next in line was Diego Gomez. Gomez wore a lion suit to the final table, but if that had any effect on his luck, it certainly misfired when he dropped his last chips to David Boyaciyan.
Ben Warrington was the next victim. His last chips ended up in Sotitios Koutoupas’ possession.
Jelassi swung into action next, disposing of Boyaciyan in 3rd place and setting up the heads-up stage of the action.
Although he started the home dash of the poker tournament with a massive lead, it took Jelassi around 100 hands to finally put his opponent away.
