EPT San Remo Main Event – Day 2 Report

430 players returned on the second day of the EPT’s San Remo Main Event. 6 levels of action went into the day, at the end of which, Inge Forsmo emerged with the chip lead. Forsmo will lead 162 survivors into day 3, behind a stack of 606.1k chips.
Forsmo started his climb up the ladder relatively early in the day by scoring a double knockout in one hand: he managed to get Oleg Larichev and Nikoay Tyurin all-in and he proceeded to knock them both out, picking up a massive pot in the process. From that point on, Forsmo never looked back.
Other players who managed to finish the day on massive stacks were Lorenzo Sabato, who finished with 387.9k chips to his name and Matt Salsberg, who built a stack of 338.7k.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko finished among the front-runners as well: he had 336.3k chips bagged at the end of the day.

Several other notables thrived in the poker tournament, although they eventually failed to finish among the large-stacks: Ana Marquez finished with 162k chips to her name. Jude Ainsworth survived on a relatively healthy stack too, while Chris Moneymaker finished with a rather short-ish 70.6k chips. Jose Barbero, Pius Heinz and Andre Akkari survived too.
Angel Guillen had a struggle of a day. He played well, but Lady Luck simply didn’t agree with him most of the time. He eventually saw his stack of 82k+ chips evaporate, as his tournament life came to an end. He had 15k left when he pushed all-in holding an A,Ko. Theo Jorgensen made the call with a K,Jo and sure enough, he proceeded to make a straight on the flop to knock Guillen out of contention for good. Guillen wasn’t the only ‘name’ victim of the day though. Eugene Katchalov failed to make it through the day too, together with Johnny Lodden, Leo Fernandez and Mike McDonald. Andy Frankenberger was eliminated as well.
