EPT Sanremo Date Changed
Posted by: Randy Williams - Sun, 2013-12-01 09:47
With the EPT’s 10th season slowly but surely unfolding before our eyes, tour officials have decided to move the Sanremo stop of the Series a few days back, thus adding a tweak to the schedule they doubtlessly found important for one reason or another. Instead of the original April 6-16 date, the
EPT 10’s Sanremo stop will kick off on April 10 and wrap up on April 20, 2014. Those who have already included the stop into their schedules will therefore not have to turn everything upside down, because the slide is just a 4-day one.
The Main Event of the stop, the €5.3k
NL Holdem tournament, will thus kick off on April 14 and wrap up on the 20th, on the final day of the stop.
One reason why the officials deemed it useful to make the tweak is the fact that the Sanremo stop has now been nudged closer to the
PokerStars and Monte Carlo Casino European Poker Tour Grand final, which is scheduled to kick off on April 23, wrapping up on May 3. What this basically means for players is that they will be able to treat the two stops as one, traveling from Sanremo to Monte Carlo without any downtime and being able to take part in no fewer than 3 weeks of solid poker action.
Given that Monte Carlo is only about 30 minutes away from Sanremo, many of the Sanremo participants are indeed likely to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the new schedule.
In addition to that, another advantage the new schedule carries is that it will thusly be able to join up with the Italian Poker Tour, creating a genuine festival of poker for the length of the San Remo stop.
The Sanremo stop will feature the same 11-day format proved viable by the Barcelona, London and Deauville stops.
Sign up to PokerStars and make use of their online qualifiers to make your way to one of the Main Events of the EPT’s 10th season.
