EPT Vilamoura – Toby Lewis wins

When the PokerStars EPT Vilamoura’s final table kicked off, there were three Brits at the tables, two of whom would end up the talk of the poker tournament. Toby Lewis was one of the two: he won the event so his name has been forever etched into EPT history. The other one was Sam Trickett, who stood out for a different reason: for his phenomenal bad luck. 5 times did Trickett get short stacks all-in, and 4 times out of those 5 he held a pretty decent advantage over his opponents. He only managed to win one of those confrontations and even then he barely collected a few chips off some extreme short stack.
He ran his Q,Q into Teddy Sheringham’s K,K and made trips against Frederik Jensen’s Full House. Overall, it’s safe to say his final table run was a complete disaster, but he never lost his cool.

Home Boy Sergio Coutinho was the first one who found the rail. Trickett was the one responsible for his elimination. Coutinho was joined at the rail by Rob Hollink. Jacobson clawed his way back from the edge of extinction to send Teddy Sheringham to the slammer in 5th place.
Jason Lee flew his short-stack under the radar for much of the final table, but eventually his time came. He shoved all-in holding Ah, 5h and got called by Jacobson who had A,10o. Jacobson proceeded to hit top pair to set up the final stage of the poker tournament.

The heads-up stage of the event saw Jacobson hold a pretty decent chip lead over Lewis. That advantage would evaporate quickly though and from that point on, Jacobson never managed to threaten again. The final hand saw Jacobson make a two pair against Lewis’ set of 5s.
