Foxwoods to Begin Offering Online Gaming?

Connecticut’s Foxwoods Casino has taken a major step on Monday, officially securing a partnership with the GameAccount Network, a partnership which will allow it to eventually start offering online gaming within the US.
The move is the all-too-familiar jostling for position with eventual legalization in mind move that so many of the live Las Vegas gambling interests have already pulled.
According to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the operator of the Foxwoods Casino, the move would at first be aimed at rolling out a play money offering, which could then be followed up by a real money initiative sometime in the future, provided the legal situation develops in that direction.
On top of the by now standard significance of the move, the Foxwoods partnership may have a deeper impact as well: it may end up providing real money online gambling and online poker solutions to other land-based casinos operated by Indian tribes.

Unlike their New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada peers, Connecticut lawmakers haven’t yet addressed the issue of legal online gambling/poker and there have been no initiatives to get anything going on this front.
GameAccount is a software creator focused on delivering online gaming solutions for regulated markets. In addition to the fully integrated platform it offers, GameAccount is capable of turning live slot machines into online games, something which may indeed carry a certain amount of additional appeal for live casino operators.
Foxwoods’ agreement was by no means one without a buildup: in fact, it is safe to assume that it came as a reaction rather than an inspired initiative, given that the Mohegan Sun, one of Foxwoods’ main intra-state rivals, has signed a similar deal with Amaya Gaming only a few months ago.
The Mohegan Sun deal was the first one of its kind made by a live gambling operator on the East Coast.
