FTOPS XXI – Day 11 Report

The 11th day of the FTOPS XXI was a little bit less generous than the previous days when it came to the number of gold jerseys awarded: only two players earned FTOPS titles on Wednesday, as there were only 2 events on the schedule.

The first poker tournament of the day was event #25, the $322 PLO Heads-Up event. A total of 235 players signed up for the action, generating a prize-pool of $70.5k. “name” pros were yet again out in force, and on Day 11 several of them proved successful. The winner of event #25 was Kevin Eyster, who scooped up a $17.2k prize, together with the gold jersey of course. He bested Joseph Spanne heads-up. Spanne’s cut of the prize-pool was a $9.8k one.
Kevin Iacofano did well in the event too: he finished in 3rd place, taking down $5.1k for his efforts.
Chance Kornuth and Benny Spindler managed relatively deep runs in the event as well. There were no deals made between the two top finishers.

Event #26, the $322 NL Holdem 6-max with Re-buys event, was the second one of the day. 294 players showed up for this one. They re-bought 369 times and paid out 242 add-ons to create a prize-pool of $271.5k. This event was won by a “name” player as well: Grayson Ramage took home the gold jersey and the $65.1k prize, after he bested a player known as “Mutha Slusha” heads-up. The runner-up’s share of the prize-pool was $42k.
Brandon Meyers had a great run in the event as well: he finished 4th, taking home $22.2k. He was followed by Jochum Weenink, who collected $15.7k for his 5th place. Aaron Gustavson finished the tournament in 9th place for a $5.4k reward.
