FTOPS XXI – Day 4 Report

Day 4 of the 21st edition of Full Tilt Poker’s Online Poker Series created two more champions. Only two events (#8 and #9) saw action, but they both managed to exceed their guarantees (pretty much like every other FTOPS event thus far, with the exception of one).
Event #8, the $216 PL Omaha Hi Rush one, put on quite a show. Rush Poker tournaments are extremely fast, and much like the cash games, they offer near instant gratification. Event #8 fit that mold perfectly: it drew a starting field of 487 players and it offered a guarantee of $50k. Obviously, the high number of registrants meant that the guarantee was simply obliterated. In the end, the prize-pool grew to $97.4k.
The winner of the
poker tournament was Garbally, who beat arhimides to the gold jersey. The two players made a heads-up deal though, so the winner ended up taking down $19.9k while the runner up was rewarded with $19.4k.
Nikhil Persaud was one of the notables playing in the event. He had won a turbo event in the FTOPS XX, so he had experience with lightning-fast action. He did pretty well this time around too: he finished 6th, taking home a $4.8k prize.
Event #9 was the $109
NL Holdem 6-Max Rebuy one. The tournament attracted a starting field of 806 players, and it offered an initial guarantee of $200k. It too has successfully managed to surpass that guarantee though, so in the end, those finishing in the money would share a $254k prize-pool.
The winner of the event was ottoman09, who struck no deals on his way to the gold jersey. He ended up taking home $54.2k, and he scored a few valuable leader board points which landed him in 3rd place on the FTOPS XXI leaderboard.
